What is Cated eco for?
This product has been devised in reply to the growing importance of energy efficiency in vehicles. In the case of Spain, The Institute for Diversification and Energy Saving, dependent on the Ministry of Industry (IDAE) has recently (2009) reached an agreement with the DGT (General Road Traffic of the Ministry of Public Works and the Departments of Passengers and Goods by Road of the National Committee of Road Transport (CNTC) to promote efficient driving directed towards professional drivers of industrial vehicles (lorries and buses). The technology behind Cated eco
The Cated® eco application incorporates a complex algorithm which analyzes the parameters of the functioning of the vehicle and incorporates efficient driving techniques and is able to suggest changes to the driver which increase efficiency.
The algorithm, a result of thorough research, is a complete breakthrough with regard to the current state of the market as it entails a detailed analysis of the parameters of the functioning of the vehicle in real-time received through Cated® sensor. This marks a fundamental difference with other existing products on the market which carry out analysis based solely on the use of GPS positional data or cartography. Another innovation is, of course, the fact that the algorithm functions in the user's own mobile device, without the need to purchase an additional device, so reducing the cost of the product.
The principal characteristics of Cated® eco version 1.0 are:
- Visual and audible information about the required gear for efficient driving.
- Information about other parameters such as speed and global performance.
- Register of information about specific routes (through GPS) and information on driving.
- Behaviour which dynamically adapts to the specific model of the vehicle and type of road.
In future versions, Cated® eco will also incorporate:
- A website for a user route register, consumption evolution and, in short, a place to share experiences.
Currently there is no product on the market like Cated® eco. Certain top of the range vehicles are starting to incorporate into their navigation systems advice for efficient driving but there is still an important section of vehicles not yet covered by these systems.
Lastly, it is important to point out that Cated® eco is the ideal complement for the applications OviMaps or Google Maps Navigation available for the telephones Nokia or Android, respectively.

An application backed by professionals
ADN Mobile Solutions believed it convenient to implicate in the project a professional group dedicated to driving for whom the efficient driving techniques implemented by Cated needed to be as precise as possible. For that reason, the Taxi cooperative Radio Taxis Gijón (based in the city of Gijón, Asturias - Spain) have collaborated in the validation and perfectioning of the product, achieving up to 25% more efficiency with regard to tests without the Cated device.
